Strong business delegations and representations from as many as 55 countries are visiting the on going Auto Expo 2008.

New Delhi: At the exclusive Taiwan Pavilion 36 companies from Taiwan are participating as exhibitors. 08 companies are represented by the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association (TVMA) at the Auto Expo. TVMA has a total 600 members comprising of automobile, bikes and component manufacturers.

Taiwan manufactures about 300,000 vehicles per year including commercial and passenger vehicles. Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association is participating at the Auto Expo for the first time and are very impressed at the magnanimity of the event and are looking forward to participate again at the 10th Auto Expo in 2010. Lot of business enquires have been generated over the past one week and they expect a very cordial mutual business exchange in the days to come.

The Indian automotive industry is demonstrating impressive growth and technological capability, which creates great opportunities for collaboration between India and Taiwan, a source from TVMA said. The Canadian Pavilion at Hall 7 comprising of 16 companies represent the auto component manufacturers, service providers from Canada.

The Pavilion mainly showcases the component manufacturers represented by Ballard, L&P Automotive Group, Ontario Drive & Gear Limited besides other prominent exhibitors. A Canadian business delegation is also visiting the Auto Expo 2008 and would also take part in Canada - Auto Sector Seminar on 16 January.

They are also scheduled to visit the New Delhi automotive sector hub; Site visits to OEMs and leading Indian auto companies apart from Matchmaking program and one-to-one business meetings with potential partners. A strong automotive industry delegation from Japan led by The Automobile Manufacturers Associations (JAMA) is participating at the Auto Expo. The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association is a Tokyo-based trade association representing 14 Japanese car, truck, bus and motorcycle manufacturers.

JAMA maintains offices in the United States, Europe and Asia. A delegation of 26 companies of the UK automotive industry, which accounts for 11 per cent of UK’s total exports, is in India to explore business opportunities at the 9th Auto Expo. The automobile industry of UK is keen to forge business partnership with Indian industries, particularly in engineering and precision engineering.

United Kingdom is home to over 40 global carmakers, including seven of the world's top 10 companies. Over 80 German companies are participating at the Auto Expo, German Pavilion.

The sure highlight of international participation at Auto Expo this year was the participation of over 70 companies from Germany, which is the largest ever presentation from Germany at Auto Expo.

Similarly, among the gamut of international participation, there are many business delegations being led and represented by various organizations like Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA); Society of Vehicle Manufacturers & traders (SMMT), UK; UK Trade Investment Board; PSA Peugeot Citroen (Outsourcing) – Europe; Forum Indien – Germany; Centro Estero per L’Internazionalizzazione s.c.p.a. – Italy etc., some of whom are taking part as the exhibitors and others visiting the Expo.
