    By Bus

Buses are the most common way to travel around the city. They are fairly reliable and are one of the most economical ways to travel within the city too. Indeed Delhi boasts of the World's largest eco-friendly CNG bus service.

Regular bus services are available from inter-state bus terminals in the city. The services are extended to all the northern states and the neighbouring areas of Delhi. Services are provided by state transport corporations and several private operators. The inter-state terminals in city are:

Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Northern Delhi

Anand Vihar ISBT in Trans-Yamuna area

Sarai Kale Khan ISBT in South-East Delhi

The DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) has a fairly large fleet of environment friendly buses in different categories viz. Air-conditioned, Non Air-conditioned covering all parts of Delhi. Generally, buses are very crowded in many of the bus routes and may not be easy for a tourist visiting India for the first time. Each bus is provided with a staff (Conductor) to manage the passengers and issue tickets. One can approach the bus conductor for any help and emergencies.

    From Airport

The New Delhi airport is connected to a large number of domestic as well as international cities.

Domestic flights ply to and from major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad as well as others like Bhopal and Siliguri. Among these, New Delhi to Mumbai and New Delhi to Bangalore is the airport’s most popular routes. SpiceJet and IndiGo are among the major domestic airlines operating in at the IGI Airport.

The city is well-connected to international destinations like Dubai, London, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi, among others. Major airlines such as Etihad, British Airways, Lufthansa Airlines, and Air France offer flight services at the IGI airport. The most travelled international routes from here include New Delhi to Abu Dhabi and New Delhi to London.

The New Delhi Airport has a total of two terminals handling domestic traffic. Terminal 1 is entirely dedicated to domestic flights with Terminal 1D for departures and Terminal 1C for arrivals. Terminal 3 handles the arrivals and departures of both domestic as well as international flights.( For updates please contact the airlines or your travel agent or city airport helpine nos.)

Taxi : The airports are well connected with Pre Paid Government (Yellow and Black roof Top) and Private Taxi Services which are available 24/7.

Via Delhi Metro : The Orange Line, also known as Airport Express Line, is the metro line that offers service from IGI Airport to city centre from 04:45 AM till 11:30 PM with a frequency of 15 minutes. The airport express operates between Dwarka Sector 21 and New Delhi Railway Station via IGI Airport Terminal 3, Aerocity, Dhaula Kuan, Shivaji Stadium (Connaught Place) & New Delhi Railway Station. If you need to go to Terminal 1, it is better to stop at Aerocity metro station and from there take the Metro Feeder Bus or the Airport shuttle bus.

Buses : Most buses are owned either by the State-owned Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) or the private contractors. The corporation runs shuttle service at a regular interval (every 30 minutes) connecting the airport to the central parts of Delhi including Connaught Place & Interstate Bus Terminal. These buses are equipped with comfort of air-conditioning and convenient for travel even with baggage at a nominal fare. All buses coming towards Terminal 3 will arrive and depart from a 'staging area' located opposite Centaur Hotel. From there to the Airport Terminal; Delhi International Airport Li mited (DIAL) provides shuttle bus, every 15 minutes. For the convenience of passengers this service runs 24x7.
